Tens of thousands of believers flocked to the National Mall in
Washington D. C. last weekend for a time of prayer for our country. Songs were
sung. Hands were raised in prayer. And thousands of other believers, including
me, were praying right along with them. We prayed for the violence to end, for
the hatred to be moved to love, for God to bring us back to Himself.
The raising of our
hands, the prayers of God’s people are set in the halls of heaven. He hears our
prayers. He understands our pleas. He will not leave us nor forsake us, even in
the midst of calamity and chaos. Keep
praying and trust His timing and His purpose.
I call to You, Lord. Come quickly to me. Hear me
when I call to You. May my prayer be set before You like incense. May the
lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. Psalm 141:1-2
Even in the last
days of the earth, as told in the book of Revelation, our prayers are heard.
They have been lifted to heaven, and the angels have records of them. Remember
that as you pray for others, for your family, for our country, for the world.
And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of
the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. Revelation 8:4
Father,
Let our prayers rise as incense to You. May they be pleasing
to You as you hear our pleas. Guide us into deep prayer in Your presence.
In Jesus name,
Amen
