Today we celebrate our freedom.
Freedom to speak, to vote, to worship. America is the land of the free and the
brave, and those freedoms were hard-fought. Brave men and women sacrificed
their lives. As you celebrate our personal liberty, remember you, too, have
freedom in Christ Jesus. And our freedom from sin and death was bought with
sacrifice. The blood of Christ
When Jesus walked
the earth, He proclaimed part of Isaiah 61.
“The
Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to
proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted,
to proclaim freedom to the captives and release from darkness to the
prisoners.” Isaiah 61:1
How beautiful!
Christ has released and redeemed us from darkness, from the prison that
contained our souls, into His glorious light. And, because of His death and
resurrection, we have the Holy Spirit!
Let freedom reign!
Now the
Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2
Corinthians 3:17
We are set free in His truth. Be
confident in Christ today, as we celebrate our freedom in Him and in our
country. Let freedom reign!
In Him
and through faith in Him, we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
Ephesians 3:12
Jesus,
We give You thanks for our great country. We pray Your name
would remain strong here and that many will come to believe in the freedom you
offer to everyone.
Amen
