Are there times you long for eternity, for a forever with
Jesus, with no more pain and suffering, no more sin? I long for that day, more
and more, the older I get. In the meantime, we thank God for the breath of
life, understanding He has purpose for us as long as we live!
Did you know that
all of God’s creation is groaning along with us as we await the full redemption
of heaven and earth? God told us about the changes in the earth as His coming
draws ever nearer, including the increase in earthquakes, storms and evil. You
can feel the stirrings of creation and in our own hearts as we anticipate His
return, hear His footsteps drawing near.
We know
that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right
up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first-fruits
of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship,
the redemption of our bodies. Romans 8:22-23
Read through Romans 8:18-21 for
more about the fall of creation. You can also read about the redeemed earth in
Isaiah 11.
Lord,
We know the earth is groaning, as we are, for Your return. One
day the new heaven and the new earth will stand forever, as we share glory with
You in our resurrected bodies. What anticipation we have in our hearts as we
await the day. Use us in our short time on earth.
Amen
