Feel God’s
strength, peace and joy today in your soul as you recognize the power of God at
your disposal. We are able to shine with His light in the ever-increasing
darkness around us. We talked yesterday about the spiritual battles on earth and
in heaven, after Lucifer’s pride turned him from God. We have at our disposal full body armor to
put on and use each day.
Therefore
put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be
able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand
firm then, with the belt of truth, buckled around your waist, with the
breastplate of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the
readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up
the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of
the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of
prayers and requests, with this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying
for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:13-18
Please notice that most of the
armor is defensive in nature, but the word of God is our sword. When Jesus was
tempted by the devil, He spoke back with the written word. (Matthew 4). Here
are two more verses to comfort you.
The thief
comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full. John 10:10
You dear
children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is
greater than the one who is in the world.
1 John 4:4
Be aware of Satan and his angels,
but never forget, we have armor and we know that Jesus came to give us life in
abundance. The Holy Spirit within us is much greater than the ruler of this
earth.
Thank you, Lord, for this opportunity to read about evil,
knowing we are in Your capable hands. We have the word of God as our sword and
our faith to keep away every flaming arrow of our enemies.
We praise you today for your angels and we look forward to
reading about them and their ministries on earth.
Amen
