It’s Brooklyn’s 3rd
birthday today! We are caring for her for a couple of weeks. She is happy and
energetic, loves to sing and, of course, boss us around! One of her favorite
songs is, “Jesus Loves Me.’ We are grateful our daughters and their husbands
are teaching their children about Jesus at an early age.
Teaching our
children and grandchildren about Jesus is a great privilege. The ground will
remain secure with Jesus as their foundation. God commands us to teach them.
Teach
them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you
walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 11:19
Our children will
return to God’s word and His ways, even if they walk away for a time. Listen to
this promise.
Train up
your children in the way they should go and when they are older, they will not
depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
Direct them. Teach
them. Talk about Jesus when you get up, when you go through your day and before
you go to bed. Let Him become a part of daily life, in everything you do.
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my
children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 1:4
Lord,
We long to make You number one, to think about You, to pray to
You, to read and teach Your word. As we get up each day turn our thoughts and
hearts to You. Let us teach our children about You. Happy birthday our sweet
girl!
Amen
