I have studied
death and dying, have worked with hospice patients and have heard stories of
those nearing death. Many people, as they near death, see angels There is a
story in the Gospel of Luke about an angel escorting someone to heaven. I love
the thought of being introduced into heaven by an angel. He just might show us
around and introduce us to our Lord.
“the time
came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side.” Luke
16:22a
This can be a
comforting verse to the dying. Angels may be surrounding the bed. The dying
person may even see the angels as they near the time to go home to heaven.
Father,
Thank You for sharing stories with us about angels. We are
grateful for their presence, for their protection and for their guidance. They
serve and honor You.
