Where did you learn to love? So many today live in loveless
homes. They live with addiction, or abuse or apathy. Our precious children live
away from reality, caught looking at a screen, more than looking at creation,
at God or at one another. We all need unconditional love and a little kindness.
We all need someone to listen to our lost hearts, to encourage us, and find
healing and health.
Of course, the
answer to all of this is Jesus. His love overpowers the deepest hurt. He
becomes the parent to the orphan, the answer to the addiction, the healer of
all wounds. For anyone to be able to really love, they first need to be loved,
really loved; loved in spite of flaws, in spite of mistakes, in spite of
everything the world has thrown at us. That love comes from our Creator in the
form of His only Son. He loved us first.
We love
because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19
Jesus,
Let Your unconditional love fall on our hurting world. Teach
us how to love Your children. You do not want to lose even one.
Amen
