Blessed
are they who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom
of heaven. Matthew 5:10
Blessed
are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil
against you because of Me. Matthew 5:11
Persecuted,
insulted, telling lies about us? Have you experienced any of the verses above?
The day is drawing closer when Christians will be more and more persecuted in
the world. There have always been martyrs for the faith, from the time of the
disciples (all but one was killed for their faith in Christ) to the present
day.
All of those killed
in the name of Christ are with Him in heaven, receiving their rewards. We await
that day and, in the meantime, if we are persecuted, we stand tall, speaking
the name of Christ. He is our power and our strength. There is nothing to fear.
Blessed are we.
The Lord
is with me. I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 118:6
Father,
The blessings from You are here and now and, more so, in
heaven. One day, we will forever praise You face-to-face. This life is but a
breath, a minute in the scheme of eternity. We do not fear.
In Jesus name,
Amen
