It’s the talk of the nation. The headline in the
Midwest. Minnesota is getting ready. Our neighbors were out in droves
frantically raking and bagging the leaves. One of our trees still has leaves on
it. But it’s coming today; the first snowstorm of the year. And it’s a doozy.
When you
are out cleaning your driveway and stretching your aching backs, notice the
beauty of the snow. And be reminded of God and His Word. Snow will replenish
the earth and get it ready for spring. And it will cover the dirt and the dust
with a beautiful white. It’s what Jesus did for us!
“Come
now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like
scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though
they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Isaiah 1:18
As
the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it without
watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for
the sower and bread for the eater, so is my Word that goes out from my mouth.
It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve
the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah
55:10-11
Dear Lord,
We do thank You for Your Word and for Your Son. He
cleanses our sins white as snow. Please keep everyone safe as they drive in the
freshly fallen snow today and keep our minds on You as You replenish our
souls.
Amen
