Deep joy brings
strength. Strength to take the next step, to move ahead when you want to go
back, to get the treatment, to make the break, to change the plan, to figure it
out.
This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for
the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10b
God’s joy is
soul-deep. Most of us live on the surface. You hear it in our conversations.
God allows us to go deep. God loves the deep things of life. The true spiritual
life runs into the darkest corners, the deepest hurts, and the healing begins.
The
purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws
them out. Proverbs 20:5
Jesus,
We pray to have eyes to see into the deep issues of life, to
draw others into complete healing from You. Help us to show others a way to
jump into deep waters without fear.
