Jesus satisfies our needs, not our wants. God is not Santa
Claus. He is enough for our situations today. He provides, just as He did for
the Israelites, day-by-day. Seek Him for daily nourishment, just as you do for
food and water.
As the
deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, my God. Psalm 42:1
Never stray far
from His word, from praising Him, from seeking Him in prayer, and He will be
enough. Enough for the day. Let Him renew your strength.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the
power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and
fall. But they who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength; they will
mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they shall
walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:29
When my husband
suffered a mild stroke in 2009, a friend gave us the verse above. This verse
gave us hope when we were scared. We held on to the promises of our God. The
verse that precedes the one above, states that God does not grow tired or
weary. He is there now and forever, ready to replenish those who are weary and
empty. Let Him renew your strength until you are ready to fly again.
Jesus,
Please renew our strength. Be with those feeling tired and
alone, fearful and discouraged, those who are mourning, those who are ill. Lift them up once again in Your mighty
strength.
Amen
