Looking back over the days of study on the
Beatitudes, we have been blessed. Our meekness, our humility and our hunger and
thirst for God, bring about a change in our hearts and minds as we reach out
toward others in mercy, in peace and with a pure heart. We may be persecuted
and, sometimes, even hated for His name.
Is it
worth the promise of heaven and a blessed life? Listen to the promises as they
come together at the end of each Beatitude. (Matthew 5:1-12) Talk about
blessings! We will inherit the kingdom of heaven. We are comforted and filled.
We will be shown mercy. We will see God! We are the children of God. Who could
ask for more?
Whether we want to admit it or not, this life
of ours on earth is short. We realize it more and more the older we get. Each
day is a gift. Each breath is a miracle. And each day brings us closer to life
with Jesus. You are blessed. We are blessed.
Lord
Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in You.
Psalm 84:12
Father,
We accept the blessings You have given us in Jesus.
We trust in You. Let us be the ones who hunger and thirst for Your
righteousness. Comfort us and fill us with Your Holy Spirit today.
In Jesus name,
amen
