This Is My Father's World

This one moment will be gone in a breath, never to return. Take it in. Be grateful for the breath of life God has given to you this minute. Thank Him for any blessings you see around you. Gratefulness and worship lift us from the dreariness of another day into the blessings of a loving, heavenly Father.

Take each moment of this one day and look around. Love your family. Enjoy the fall colors. Soak in the sunshine. (Or the rain) Listen to the bird songs. Watch a funny video. Laugh out loud. Skip or dance. I love to skip! Bring back some child-like exuberance.

The wonders and gifts of God’s love surround you right now. Seek it out and rejoice.

Many, Lord, my God, are the wonders You have done; the things You planned for us. None can compare with You. Were I to speak and tell of Your deeds, they would be too many to declare. Psalm 40:5

The whole earth is filled with awe at Your wonders, where morning dawns, where evening fades, You call forth songs of joy. Psalm 65:8

Take in the words of this hymn as you worship God in the moments of this one moment, this one day.

This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears, all nature sings and around me rings the music of the spheres. This is my Father’s world, I rest me in the thought, of rocks and trees, of skies and seas, His hand the wonders wrought. This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise, the morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise. This is my Father’s world, He shines in all that’s fair, in the rustling grass, I hear Him pass, He speaks to me everywhere. This is my Father’s world, O let me never forget, that though the wrong seems oh so strong, God is the ruler yet. This is my Father’s world. Why should my heart be sad? The Lord is king, let the heavens ring! God reigns, let the earth be glad!
