No Fear of Death

I often hear this; “It’s better than the alternative,” meaning even during a difficult time, it is better than being six-feet under! I completely disagree. The life after this life will be so much more than we can hope or imagine.

Now to Him, who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to the power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen! Ephesians 3:20-21

This life will never end if Jesus is your Savior. We will be moved immediately to our heavenly home, brighter, more beautiful, more peaceful, more-joy-filled, than anything we can ask or imagine. Do not fear death.

A pastor years ago said, “We spend more time trying to keep saints out of heaven, than we do sinners out of hell.”  So true. We find it hard to let go of our loved ones. Those earthly goodbyes are so difficult. But the goodbyes are not permanent. Remember that when you are lonely and grief-stricken. We do grieve, but we grieve with hope, the hope of heaven.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13

A small child asked his mother what it would be like to die and she explained it something like this: “When you fall asleep on your way home late at night and you wake up in your own bed, with your own pajamas, in your own house, that is what it will be like when you wake up in heaven. You will be home forever.”

Amen!
