Plant a Seed

As God leads us onto new paths, I believe, as followers of Jesus, if He hasn’t called us home, we have work to do. He longs to be with us as much as we long to be with Him. It fills me with awe that the Creator of heaven and earth, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, the one who numbers the stars in the sky and names them all, the one who counts the number of hairs on our heads, can use us!

Are you ready to be called into action at any moment? Are you asking and staying alert for opportunities? Sharing the Gospel with just one person would be such a gift. To imagine you and I could be a part of someone living eternally with God! Most of the time, we will just plant a seed; a seed of kindness, of compassion, of encouragement, the seed of time and love.

Someone else may pick up where we leave off and we just might lead them to Jesus. You may be the only Jesus someone knows. Ultimately, it is God who opens the heart and allows the Holy Spirit to move in.

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 1 Corinthians 3:6

Will you plant or water a seed today? Ask God to show you how. He will follow it up with the light of the Son.

Jesus,

You grow the seeds we plant. It’s exciting to know that we work together with You and with other brothers and sisters. The plan is all Yours. Move us in the right direction, to the places and the people you have prepared in advance.

Amen

He Will Direct Your Path

If we ask God to be first in our lives, if we study His word, listen for His voice and continually pray, He will continue His work in us with new dreams, with endless possibilities, and with fresh opportunities. It is the perfect time to listen for His call as we move into brand-new days that await us.

Is He asking us to change any attitude? Is He teaching us something new through this season of life? Is it time for a fresh start or will we remain and blossom right where we are? Life with Jesus is a continuous adventure. Remember this. He always wants the very best for us and as we serve Him, the blessings increase.

Sit with Him for a time and ask, “What’s next?” “Where are You leading?” I await those answers along with you. Wherever we go, whatever we do, we can lean on Him. Acknowledge Him and He will show us the way.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6

Lord,

Increase our willingness to trust You in all things, to acknowledge you in all of our ways, to lean on You when we don’t understand. We believe You when you show us the way to go.

In Jesus name,

Amen

Light of Life

Jesus is the light of the world. Light came to live among us and the darkness has not overcome it. Just as the sun sustains life and without it there is death and darkness, so it is with the Son. Jesus removes us from darkness and shines on us and through us to give real life. And it is eternal.

In Him was life and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:4-5

Allow Jesus to sustain and nourish you with the light of life. Without Him there is darkness. And with Him you will never walk in darkness again. Look up and feel the warmth of His love. Bask in it. Delight in it. It is yours forever.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Jesus,

As we follow You, You remove the darkness from us. Let Your light shine in our hearts each day. You promise us the light of life.

Amen

A New Thing

With God, each ending brings a new beginning. Each omega brings the promise of another alpha. Darkness comes just before the dawn. Satan wants us to focus on the darkness. He confuses darkness with light and sometimes we are fooled. We talk ourselves into staying in a dark place. It feels comfortable. We make the best of it.

God offers full light, beacons of hope before the fullness of the sun. His hope is always there. Brightness is ahead. Full summer days to bask in His light. Let the hope of fresh beginnings fill you this morning. Take a deep breath and watch for the dawn. Count your blessings and pray for fresh light.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up. Do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19

He is making a way through.

Father,

We wait in hope for the new beginnings you have in store for us. Shine your beacon of hope through the darkness of these days. You are making a new path for us. You are the God of new beginnings.

In Jesus name,

Amen

Walk In It

Turning 69 in a few weeks takes some adjustment. I remember turning 40 and realizing about half my life could be over and with the blink of an eye almost 30 years have passed. I wake up grateful every morning, for a roof over my head, for my husband, our daughters, their husbands and our fabulous grandkids.

I am grateful for friends, some by my side for my entire lifetime, many for more than 50 years. I have been reunited with my high school best friends and other friends from grade school, junior high and high school and we relish the time as we relive memories and shared experiences. These times are priceless.

We share life and sometimes it isn’t easy. Some of my friends are going through tough times. One with physical and cognitive issues that require full-time care, another with an addiction and still another in an impossible situation with no easy answers. I love these friends.

It’s difficult when we don’t have all the answers. We want to make things better. I hope I listen. I do know and they know God works. They are believers and this is the greatest comfort. He is there. No matter our age, our worries, our health, our grief. He will help us begin again, or help us find peace with where we are. He will lead us to the people and the places we need at this moment. Trust. He goes before us, behind us and lives within us. Such comfort.

Let’s all pray for His divine intervention and wait expectantly. His voice will be there cheering us on.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21

This is what the Lord says, “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths. Ask where the good way is and walk in it and you will find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16a

Father,

We lift up those in deep need today. Show us the way. Give us the answers for the next steps. Guide us with Your comforting voice and love.

In Jesus name,

Amen

Heart and Soul

Much of our time focuses on the outward appearance, the temporary possessions, the schedule, the stress, the worries for today. What if we spent a bit more time on our inner peace, our soul, our hearts? What if we spent more time in prayer? What if we spent more time recognizing the attributes of God and humbling ourselves before Him?

The transformation of our hearts and our souls is an inside job. Nothing to do with the temporary trappings of our bodies and the world around us. The spiritual world is real. Angels and demons are real. Jesus is alive and well and our relationship with Him is real.

What would we look like with shining eyes and a loving heart? How would we respond to the craziness around us? It’s not easy. I seem to feel anger rising in my spirit more and more these days as I witness our country falling to bits around us. God is not surprised. He predicted all that is happening. How? He knows the end from the beginning. He created the end of the story and the beginning of eternal life.

Allow His work to fill you with deep peace just for today. Let it go. Turn off the news. Open the Bible. Do a study on the book of Revelation and Daniel. No need to read the headlines. They are written there. In His mighty hands. Good over evil. Love over hate. Jesus ruling the world. One day soon. Do not lose heart.

Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are growing day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary and what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Lord,

Open our hearts and minds to Your truth. Your word is truth. Change our hearts to reflect You. Fix our eyes, hearts and souls on Jesus.

Amen

Heart and Soul

Part of Godly wisdom is learning to rely on Him through any circumstance in life. Not always easy. When tragedy strikes, when illness attacks, when death knocks on our door, when violence rises and pandemics spread, we can easily lose heart and wonder; “Where is God?” As we age and look back over our lives, we recognize His all-knowing and ever-present love and His loving arms of faithfulness.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 3:3

Let that be a part of our prayers. Let love and faithfulness NEVER leave us, not ever, no matter what.

God,

We long to trust You through it all, until we meet You in eternity. Bind Your love and faithfulness around our necks and write them on our hearts in permanent marker.

Amen

Heart and Soul

God gives us His wisdom and understanding and knowledge through the word and the guiding of the Holy Spirit. Bending our knees and bowing our heads in obedience to Him brings us deep and abiding joy. This week we are looking at the heart and soul. The external fades in significance to our Lord.

The Bible makes it clear that our bodies are the temporary tent for our soul and spirit. If only we would spend as much time focusing our attention on what God finds valuable. King Solomon knew this as he taught his son through his proverbial wisdom.

For wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Proverbs 2:10

I pray you find this proverb to be true in your own life. May God’s wisdom and knowledge become pleasant to our heart and soul.

Lord,

We thank You for leading us to deep truths. Your wisdom is beyond the external, beyond this world. It comes directly from heaven. Give us a hunger and thirst for more and more of You.

In Jesus name,

Amen

Heart and Soul

God weighs the heart. All we do and say comes from the condition of our heart. It begins with a heart for God and, through Him, our lives will be lived out with love. Listen to this Proverb:

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23

Above all else? The condition of our heart is vital for a healthy life, both physically and emotionally. Guard your heart with God’s Word. Let it fill you with all good things, until all we do flows from its bounty.

Jesus calls Himself the bread of life and He reminds us that when we have Him, we will never hunger and thirst again. Our souls will be satisfied and well. Go deep and drink and eat! Your heart and soul will be richly filled with food for the heart.

“But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14

Father,

Teach us to guard our hearts. Keep them safe from the hatred surrounding us. Give us the bread of life and the living water You promise to those who believe. Fill our hearts and souls to overflowing, giving us a life of peace, joy and hope to share with others.

In Jesus name,

Amen

It's Jesus

We will never unearth the mysteries of our all-powerful Creator God, but He sent us Jesus. Jesus shows us the heart of God. The mysteries of God are revealed in Him. Look to Him for His unconditional love and guidance today. God gave us Jesus, His Son, to show us who He is. The death and resurrection of Christ opened up the door to heaven for us, now and as we leave this earth. How wonderful to be heirs of the kingdom of heaven.

Just as our parents leave us with an inheritance, of genes, of family wisdom, of love and character and of their worldly possessions, we inherit even more from our Father in heaven. He has given us the keys to His kingdom through Jesus!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundations of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will. Ephesians 1:3-5

Missing your earthly father? Missing ever having a loving father? Let our Father fill in any gaps in your life with His unending love. Your belief in Jesus brings about every spiritual blessing, a home in heaven, and a loving Father and Son to walk with you every step of the way. Their love is unconditional, their Spirit alive and well within you, along with arms of comfort to calm the storms around you. The keys to the kingdom are available to all! Open the door of your heart today and call out, “Abba” Father, our daddy.

Father,

You remind us again and again of our spiritual heritage. Help us to hear Your voice in a stronger way in the days ahead, to trust in You completely and to allow You to feed and nourish our spirits until they are whole.

In Jesus name,

Amen

See you back here on Tuesday.

His Mysterious Ways

The examples of God working through lives are endless and they are eternal. The Spirit-filled life is one of abundance, deep joy and peace. The blessings of God act as stepping stones to guide us on the path ahead. As our trust and faith grow, as we rely more and more on the secure foundation of Christ, we can walk in hope and show the world around us that everything in life brings us to the One thing we need. It is Christ.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. Hebrews 6:19

The words in the verse above give us strength. We have an anchor for our souls, where it matters most, firm and secure, always hopeful. We can enter the very throne-room of heaven with anything and everything and He is there. Jesus experienced every single emotion, every single temptation, every tribulation we will encounter. He felt every sin, felt the agony of each disease, suffered the pain and loss of being separate from His Father in heaven for the first time. He knows. He has been there.

Life is precious and fragile. It is exhilarating and frightening. It is filled with happiness and sadness, with hope and despair, and with Christ, we will get through it all in triumph. He has overcome death for us! There is no more fear with Him. His perfect love is forever.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

His mysterious ways will remain until that glorious day we walk through heaven’s door forever. All of our questions will be set to rest, all of our hopes realized, all of our fears unfounded, all uncertainty gone, no more pain, no more tears, only perfect love forever. Keep that foundation of faith with you each unsteady step of the way. The anchor of Christ is secure and it is lasting.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.  Joshua 1:9

Lord,

Whatever life holds, you hold us. Our fear keeps us from trusting You. Our worries about tomorrow rob us of the joys of today. Be with us wherever we go. You promise to never leave us nor forsake us. And Your perfect love with stay with us.

In Jesus name,

Amen

His Mysterious Ways

When we can’t find an answer, when we don’t know how to get through the grief, or how to help a loved one, or what to do next, we can place our complete trust in Jesus. He has the answers. He knows the way through. He has the words of comfort for us to use. He sees the next step and the one after that. There are millions of testimonies in history, up to the present day, reminding us and teaching us that God works through everything.

The apostle Paul wrote several of his epistles from a dark, dank, smelly jail cell in Rome. He was chained to a guard at all times. All of these prison epistles are filled with gratitude to God, with an understanding that even then, the good news of the gospel would be preached. He was filled with joy.

He and his other Christian cellmates sang songs of praise and joy, stunning their jailers and other prisoners. The book of Philippians is filled with verses about deep joy, about the peace that passes all understanding, and the call for believers to continue to shine as stars.  Here are a few verses to take with you today.

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. Philippians 1:12

For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

So that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky. Philippians 2:15

Rejoice in the Lord always! I will say it again. Rejoice! Philippians 4:4

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

The verses in the book of Philippians are worth reading time and time again. Put some to memory and take them out when you are feeling weak and overwhelmed. Paul reminds us to spread the gospel no matter the circumstances in our lives, to continue to shine like stars in this warped generation, to rejoice always! God is good, all the time and He remains on the throne. Stay filled with His peace and joy as we continue to marvel at His mysterious ways. Maybe, just maybe, this time in your life will be used for our God.

Lord,

Thank You for the examples of faith both in Scripture and in life. Teach us by example to rely on Your great love and strength to get us through life, all of it with peace and joy, always striving to shine with Your glory.

In Jesus name,

Amen

His Mysterious Ways

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and His paths beyond searching out! Romans 11:33

When we sit in wonder and awe at the scope and magnitude of our Creator God, it is simply miraculous that His plans include us. Let this verse help you relax in His strength today. He is in all things around us and He has absolute control.

For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen Romans 11:36

All things. That includes you and me, the spinning of the globe, the sunrise and the sunset, the ocean waves and the breeze. All from Him. All through Him. All for Him.

Placing our very lives in His hands is not easy. We want control. As humans it becomes difficult to keep our peace as we question the future of the planet, as we obsess over government or rulers, as we fret about our daily activities, our vulnerability, our weakness. God uses them all. Ultimately, the end of the earth, as we know it, will be in His hands and eternity will be ours. Focus on the things that please God. Focus on His beloved Son. And focus on the things of the heart.

Above all else, our faith pleases God. His mysterious ways will not be completely understood by us right now, but we know we have a secure foundation.

And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Lord,

How wonderful are Your ways! Keep us strong in faith and trust, looking to You for everything we need in our lives. You are the author and finisher of our faith and the ruler of the heavens and the earth. Give us peace today as we leave it all in Your capable hands.

In Jesus name,

Amen

His Mysterious Ways

As we live out our lives, we will never completely understand the mysterious ways of God. He weaves people, circumstances, places, even our words into His timing and for His purposes. There are times we are obedient and understand what He desires from us and what to do for and with the people and opportunities He places before us.

Most times, I believe, we won’t realize the impact we have made through the Holy Spirit until eternity. When we use our spiritual gifts and ask the Spirit to guide us, He will work through us.

My husband and I were listening to music over the weekend and listened closely to the lyrics of the Beatle’s song, “In My Life.” This song speaks of people moving in and out of our lives Some have died and some remain, as we hold affection for them all. Have you had an old friend pop back into your life? Have you been able to thank someone for making a difference in your life? Has someone told you how much you mean to them? Has a word spoken at the right time meant so much?

Think back over your life and smile as you remember those that have meant something to you. A parent, a teacher, a friend, a spouse?  Could it have been a stranger you encountered along the way? Thank God for those people and ask Him how He can use you in the same ways.

Let’s be ready for His call. The most unexpected encounters may be the very ones God has in mind to change a life through us with His presence, with His promises, with His love. Don’t try to figure it all out. He works good through the toughest times and brings blessings in the most mysterious ways. He also says He uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.  I can relate to that! (1 Corinthians 1:27)

Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” John 13:7

Father,

We love the journey we are on with You. Open our eyes to Your ways, but keep us peace-filled when we don’t understand. Your ways are so much higher than ours. We thank You for the people and the places we find through Your lead.

In Jesus name,

Amen

Decisions

Resting in Jesus throughout our lives brings peace and joy. When pleasing Him becomes our greatest priority, we won’t care what others think. Honoring Him is the desire of our heart. When His dreams become our dreams, we have rest for our souls.

Our lives may look insignificant to the outward-focused, money-oriented, me-first world, but to Jesus we are His treasures, His chosen people. His royal priesthood. Our prayers matter. Our Bible study matters. Our deep love for others matters. We are keeping evil at bay, every single day with the power of the resurrected Christ. Let His dreams become yours. You are making an eternal difference.

Make a decision today to follow Jesus. Let Him take the lead in the dance of life. Delight in His footsteps. Find direction as he takes your hand. His light will fill you with all you need each day. Decide to accept Jesus as Savior. It is the one decision that matters most.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other way under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do. Ephesians 6:7-8

Father,

Keep our minds and hearts on Your dreams for us. With the decision to accept Jesus in our lives, we understand sacrifice. We understand love. We understand humility. He showed us the way through all He did for us.

In Jesus name,

Amen

Dance

The dance of life does not move in easy, sequential steps. There are times when we barely move, in a slow dance, rocking back and forth in the same place. Change is difficult. Some seasons we move in an elegant waltz, organized and flowing. Everything in the dance of life flows smoothly and steadily.

The music speeds up and life spins out of control, a raucous and chaotic polka, spinning us wildly. We aren’t sure where we will land. And there are the moments of wild abandon and freedom. We don’t care who is looking. We take on the world and don’t care what others think.

Whatever dance you are experiencing, let the Lord of the dance take control. He can keep up with each step. Worship Him as if no one is looking. Imagine the powerful King David of Israel, dancing on the street in worship; so exceedingly filled with the joy of the Lord, he could not stop. Even with his wife’s embarrassment and harsh words, David needed to worship his God.

Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might. 2 Samuel 6:14

Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness. I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. Jeremiah 31:13

You turned my mourning into dancing. You removed my sackcloth and clothes me with joy. Psalm 30:11

The dance of life with Jesus is sure. Our footsteps, whether in control or faltering, whether in wild abandon or joyful worship, are His. One day our mourning will turn to gladness and we will dance through heaven’s gate.

Jesus,

Take the lead as we continue the dance of life. With You, we will never completely lose our way. You are getting ready to take us home. Lead the way.

Amen

Direction

Wondering which path to take next? Do we look back to the past for the answers or do we press forward to what is ahead? The answer is “yes!”

This is what the Lord says, “Stop at the crossroads and look around, and ask for the ancient paths where the good way is, and walk in it and find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16a

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do; forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. Philippians 3:13

Are you standing at a crossroad? When we need direction, there are answers in the Bible. Learn from the ancient ways. The Bible is full of stories of men and women just like us. They had doubts. They made mistakes. They followed the wrong path. They asked for forgiveness. And they moved ahead.

Look at the ancient paths and forget the doubts and mistakes. You are forgiven. Press on to what is ahead. Jesus is right there leading the way. He may set you on a brand-new path.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19

Jesus,

We get confused. We wonder what’s next. Guide our eyes and ears to see and hear Your Word and strain toward Your goals, Your ways, Your direction.

Amen

Daylight

When we receive Jesus as Savior, we move from darkness to light. Jesus is the light of the world. (John 8 and 9 Matthew 5) Having been filled with His light, we can shine with His enduring love. Because of His complete forgiveness, we are washed clean.

This is the message we have heard from Him, and declare to you. God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1 5-7

He purifies us from ALL sin. Let this freedom fill you with peace and joy. Because of His great love, we can walk out our lives in the light of eternity. Shine continually as a child of the light.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1;5

When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8:12

You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.  1 Thessalonians 5:5

Jesus,

Because of You, we need not walk in darkness. The light of Your glory has forgiven us, washed us clean and set us in eternity. Fill us with Your light as we finish our earthly lives as children of the day.

Amen

Delight

These words came to mind this morning out of nowhere. You will make my dreams come true, when all I seek is to glorify You.  When God becomes our first love and our greatest desire is to follow and please Him, he blesses us with supernatural power and the desires of our hearts become His.

Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

Take time to delight yourself in the Lord today. Thank Him for His Son, Jesus who saved us, for His Spirit that guides us, for His word that teaches us, for His creation that inspires us, for friends and family to bless us, for food and shelter that sustain us. Take delight in His presence, in His power, in His protection, in His providence. He will give you the desires of your heart. And, don’t forget, as we take delight in Him, He takes great delight in you and in me.

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you. In His love, He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Lord,

We take delight in You today for all of Your good gifts from above. We, as children of the light, are already seated in heaven with You. How miraculous! How amazing! How delightful are You!

Amen

The Depth of the Richness of God

Moving deeper with God, moving into a more intimate relationship, takes time. Any relationship worth having involves communication, trust and love. Jesus is our constant companion, willing to be centered in every moment of our lives. His ways are so much deeper and higher than anything we can do on our own.

Do not move into the ways of the world. The Bible tells us the days will, with ever-increasing intensity, grow more and more evil, until they look like the times of Noah. Storms will increase with intensity and frequency (Matthew 24, Luke 21), violence will increase, but so will God’s light. This is our time of grace. Let’s make the most of it. Listen. Go deep. Take time. Love Jesus and share that love with the world.

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and His paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? Who has ever given to God that God should repay them? For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory, forever! Amen Romans 11:34-36

All things for Him. All things from Him. All things through Him. Jesus will overcome the evils of this world. We are victorious, even over death.

They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings-and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers. Revelation 17:14

Yes, we will be with Him! That’s us; called, chosen, faithful.

Lord,

Thank You for the promises You have given us. We are Yours, now and forever and, one day soon, You will vanquish all evil. Draw us closer to You and to Your Word, until You guide us home..

In Jesus name,

Amen

The Throne of Grace

As we dive deeper into faith and relationship with Jesus, prayer will become an inherent, valuable part of our lives. Jesus is with us morning, noon, and night. His Spirit resides within and is there to listen, guide and comfort. God’s word imbedded in our hearts, can become a part of our praise and prayer time.

Reading through the Psalms can lift us out of despair and bring us into the throne-room of grace. We are welcome in the heavenly realms because of Jesus. Everything in our heart can be laid before Him with thanksgiving.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

He understands everything we have been through and where we are now. Go with confidence to the throne room of grace.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way just as we are-yet He did not sin. Let us, then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16

Hang on to the words of our God. Do not worry. Give it all to Him. Thank Him in advance for working in your life and speak confidently to our Savior. He promises us a deep and abiding peace. We are His. Now and forever.

Amen
