How do we live according to God’s plan for us? The only way to understand who God is and what He loves and what He hates is to know and to continually study His Word. The Word of God is alive and will speak to us in unique and personal ways.
For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
God tells us to meditate on His Word, to etch it on our hearts and to live it out as we give everything in life to Him.
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:8
God’s words to Joshua inspire me to remember to meditate on the Word night and day. The Spirit will bring words to mind as needed from the Bible as we go about our daily business. With our Bibles in hand, we can fight off the wiles of Satan and live the abundant life that only comes from Jesus.
Lord,
Today we thank You for Your word that is alive and active. The word will be like a sword against the enemy’s schemes. It will comfort us, inspire us, teach us and guide us into living the lives you have called us to live.
