Let
the sea resound and everything in it, the world and all who live in it. Let the
rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy. Let them sing
before the Lord, for He comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in
righteousness and the peoples with equity.
Psalm 98:7-9
I
rejoiced in God’s creation this weekend, with the myriad colors ot the trees
against the crystal blue sky on a crisp Sunday afternoon. The air smelled fresh
and we had the convertible top down. My face is even a little sunburned today.
The seasons are moving along quickly as the decades collect behind us. My
husband is turning 60 this week and it causes us to pause, once again, as we
consider the memories and look to the future.
God’s
design is all around us, in the way our bodies move, in the color of our eyes, in
the steady beat of our hearts, in the Mississippi River that flowed alongside
of us on our drive yesterday. He created it all. He gave us the earth to enjoy.
We celebrate each season of the earth’s cycle and each season of our lives. Recognize
the design of the Creator. Look around you this morning as you drive to work or
take a walk or peek out your window. Savor each moment. Change is in the air.
Dear Lord,
We thank you for the beauty around us. Each season
has its share of blessings. You designed it all for us and we are grateful. Let
the earth rejoice in You!
In Jesus Name,
Amen
