Do
people describe you as generous? Do you give of your possessions, time and
talents sacrificially and joyfully? Do you enjoy giving to others anonymously?
Do you look at all of your belongings, money and talents as gifts from God to
be used for Him?
If this describes you, you more than
likely have the gift of giving. Sometimes those with this gift do not recognize
it as a gift, believing that every believer should give so generously.
Sometimes God may give this gift to someone with an abundant income and they
meet the needs of many ministries and cater to the needs of the believers and
the community.
This gift allows both the wealthy and the
poor to give sacrificially like the widow in the book of Mark.
But
a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few
cents. Calling his disciples to Him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor
widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth, but she,
out of her poverty, put in everything-all she had to live on.” Mark 12: 42-44
Dear
Father,
We
thank You for the spiritual gift of giving. Thank You for their cheerful and
sacrificial giving. Thank You for the ways in which they provide for so many of
Your ministries on earth. Give all of us the heart to give generously and
cheerfully.
