The Song, The Dance, The Love

The song. Remember? The dance. Prom? Your wedding? Hanging out with friends? The love. It’s there, in your thoughts, in your days, in your life, in your past and in your future. Music from my past is resounding in my ears these days. A concert with the bands of my teens and twenties and the karaoke you-tube with Paul McCartney and James Corden, brought me to tears and laughter.

And the songs that will be a part of our future at our daughter’s wedding next year? I am a puddle. The father/daughter dance song? Too much! Yes, a song finds something deep within our souls.

And, of course, God is the master conductor, giving us the gifts of music, the slow romantic song, the beat that gets our feet tapping, the worship song that brings us to our knees. He gives us every good and perfect gift.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights and does not change like shifting shadows. James 1;17

What does the soundtrack of your life sound like? A particular song can bring us back to a person, a place, a passion, from our past. And the dance of life? If we let God lead, our steps can be fluid and confident. When we take the lead, there are missteps and stumbles. Let God take your hand this morning and lead you into the future. Listen to a favorite song today and sway to the music of life.

Jesus,

Thank You for the gift of music, the notes that fill our hearts with emotion and love. Take the lead with us today, as we step out into the next dance.

Amen
