You
hem me in behind and before, and You lay Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is
too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from Your
Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens,You are
there. If I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of
the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will
guide me; Your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will
hide me and the light becomes night around me,” even the darkness will not be
dark for You; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to
You. Psalm 139:5-12
Add to
God’s intimate knowledge of us, His ability to surround us inside and out with
His presence. He is behind and before, within and without. He protects us on
all sides with His love and power. He never leaves us even when we do not
recognize His presence. As this beautiful Psalm says, Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
God’s hand is upon
you, guiding you.
So
do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will
strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right
hand. Isaiah 41:10
Have
I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be
discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
Lord,
You are here, there and everywhere. Let Your
abiding presence be felt around us today. Take away our fear. You are our God
and You will be with us wherever we go.
