If faith
comes through hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, we need to be aware of
the Gospel verses. I love reading through them time and again, never tiring of
the message that saves. The finished work of the cross. Jesus offers eternal
life to everyone and so many will turn away. Let’s continue this week with more
of the message of the Gospel. I love these next verses. Paul is writing to one
of the leaders of the church and to all of us.
But
when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us not because
of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through
the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us
generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by
His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7
Some verses are packed
with so much Holy Spirit power, we need to sit and soak them in. There is
absolutely nothing; no hard labor, no duty served, no self-sacrificing good
deed can bring us eternal life. It is only through the kindness and love of God
through Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection. His love was poured out
for us generously on that cross, and through Him we are washed clean, renewed
and reborn in the Spirit.
Quite
the exchange. Death for life. Judgment for forgiveness. Lost to found. We have
become heirs to the kingdom of heaven.
I’ll
take life with Christ. How about you? Spread the Word.
Jesus,
These beautiful Words give us renewed minds and
spirits as we remember Your everlasting gift of life. We praise You and thank
You for what You have done.
Amen
